Welcome back to the 2026-2027 school year! I am Brian Jones, your principal, and I am excited to start a new year in classrooms with updated a/c units, paint, and flooring. I trust everyone had a safe and relaxing summer and are eager to face the challenges for the coming school year.
Our faculty and staff have frantically been preparing over the past couple of weeks for your return. I assure you that they have put forth their best effort to create a climate of learning in their classrooms. We are all available to help each student achieve their maximum potential. If you need anything don’t hesitate to ask.
We have lots to offer at Opp High School outside the classroom. Join a sports team, the band, the Voices, or one of our many clubs to create an experience this year that you won’t soon forget. Your participation in these activities will enrich your time here and help you grow as a person. Each activity group listed on a scholarship application could be the difference.
As we begin a new year, make a new friend while continuing to strengthen existing friendships. When you see someone in need, lend a helping hand. When it feels like you can’t go any longer, dig a little deeper. My door is always open and I’m available to assist you in any way I can.
